EMECO x COKE – NAVY CHAIR ///

I’m sure you’ve seen this chair everywhere by now. Coke and Emeco refresh the classic Navy chair, originally designed for the U.S. Navy back in the 1940s, by making it out of 111 recycled Coca-Cola soda bottles. I went over to Design Within Reach yesterday and took a look at it. It’s really gorgeous. The...

PORTIA WELLS ///

Portia Wells‘ work has always amazed me. Her design projects also serve as a platform for artistic ideation and social commentary about the objects we consume and acquire. I’m always surprised at how each time I look at a particular work I come across a new and unexpected thought behind it.

PETER DUDAS HI BIKE ///

Italian designer Peter Dudas released this concept project recently and I must say I kinda like it.. no word on if it will ever hit the streets. Via Josh

BLACK & WHITE CLOCK ///

I love the idea behind this concept clock that changes to be black during the day and white at night. The individual figures are hung individually on the wall and are battery-operated. I came across it at Kibardindesign.

PIET FIREPLACE ///

“Piet is a chimney free indoor stove with a brass reflector, that burns ethanol fuel instead of wood. This gives no smoke or soot and thereby eliminates the need of a chimney.” Love that one! More infos and images here.

APOLOGIES

Our sincerest apologies for not posting much these last few weeks. Msenna and myself have been occupied by other matters, namely the formation of the Proper Villains Collective. Aside from that I think we’ve both been really busy working on other projects and initiatives. I myself have been preparing to teach a college course on...

2010 CHEVROLET CAMARO

Since I was a kid I’ve had a thing for Corvettes and Camaros, most vintage muscle cars really. Chargers, Firebirds, never really cared much for Mustangs except for the first generation. I really love the late 60s when it comes to these cars. While on the road yesterday I saw the new 2010 Camaro. It...

CONTRAIL ///

Combining bicycle safety and a sense of whimsy, Contrail is a tool that sends a colorful message to the mobile community. The small apparatus attaches to any bike’s seat tube and applies a thin layer of chalk powder in one of several colors to the rear tire. The result is an eye-catching streak that traces...
