ABDUL BASIT KHAN ///

ABDUL BASIT KHAN ///

Abdul Basit Khan is a graphic designer, currently working in the Department of Architecure at the University of Singapore. There is a wonderful amount of research-based projects in his portfolio.

TRUTH DESIGN ///

Truth Design is a UK design studio/consultancy. They’ve created a great body of work. I especially like the invitation for the Reebok Pump relaunch event, shown above. Milton Glaser recently agreed to design a #4 that the studio will use to create posters in celebration of their 4 year anniversary. I’m jealous.

GRAFILU ///

I just came across these amazing illustrations over at the New Yorker this morning. Come to find out they were done by Pascal Staub, who works under the moniker Grafilu. I’m so glad I saw these, Pascal’s drawings are really incredible. I don’t know that I can compare to them to much else I’ve seen....

SUPERMUNDANE ///

Another really great portfolio from the UK. This time the work of design/illustrator Rob Lowe (A.K.A. Supermundane).

ROSE BLAKE ///

Lately I’ve been fancying the drawings and illustration work of Rose Blake. There’s major talent in the UK…someone get me one of those Draw More shirts! PS – Thanks to Andy Chen for introducing me to Rose’s work.

DAN STILES ///

Portland is the new Brooklyn, or something like that. I say this because I can’t stop coming across a ridiculous amount of talented work from designers and artists based there. Dan Stiles is one more to add to the list. Amazing posters? Check. Amazing illustration work? Check. Silkscreened goodness? Check. Dan’s got a lot more...

JIMINIE HA ///

Take a look at Jiminie Ha‘s work, really beautiful stuff there.

PORTIA WELLS ///

Portia Wells‘ work has always amazed me. Her design projects also serve as a platform for artistic ideation and social commentary about the objects we consume and acquire. I’m always surprised at how each time I look at a particular work I come across a new and unexpected thought behind it.

ANDREW HOLDER ///

Andrew Holder (Pasadena, CA), a graduate of Art Center College of Design, has a portfolio filled with some really wonderful illustration work. I especially love these trophy deer heads, shown above.

COSAS MINIMA ///

Cosas Minima is the work of illustrator and design Blanca Gomez, from Madrid, Spain. I think the thing I love most about Blanca’s work is the fun and carefree nature of some of the characters she illustrates. There is a beautiful sense of balance and minimalism to her work as well.

PHIL YAMADA ///

Phil Yamada‘s portfolio makes me regret anything bad I ever said about Canada. Lovely work Mr. Yamada, lovely work indeed.

CHRIS STRONG ///

I wish I could come up with some more info on Chris Strong, all I can tell you is he’s based out of Chi-town and has a ridiculously good portfolio of photographic work.
